Is your log in electronic form or on paper?  If you have electronic form,
easiest way might be to import into general logging program (such as ACLog),
which will do the state lookups.  Then you can sort the data either in the
logging program or by exporting the file in a format that can be opened by
MS Excel.  Of course, if QSOs are old, state lookups may not be accurate for
ops who have moved.
