To make sure everyone receives this, I am posting to both reflectors.
I know it's only October, but we really need to get our plans finalized for
the PVRCNC-East December 1 holiday meeting and let Manchester's know how
many are coming. Anyone who has had a meal at Manchester's knows it's a nice
venue and that David is an outstanding executive chef. And considering the
quality and the all-in price, it's a great value. For the menu choices and
full details, check it out at http://www.pvrcnc.org/2005holiday.html You
won't be disappointed.
A few more words about the December meeting. While we have organized a
special menu, it won't be an 'over the top' holiday party. It's not formal
or dress-up, and nothing is required like presents, etc. You don't even have
to wear your flashing Christmas tree LED tie if you don't want to. Family
members and friends are especially invited, but if your spouse or
significant other isn't into ham radio stuff, it's not a big deal. You won't
feel out of place if you don't bring someone.
What we'd really like it to be is a PVRCNC reunion and a time for all
members, active and inactive, to get together all at the same time at the
same place. There will be lots of time for "eyeballs" and other socializing,
and there won't be a lot of speeches, etc. Postmortems on SS and WW will be
fun topics I'm sure. And some members have big plans for the upcoming 160's.
Prospective members and visitors are also very welcome. A special
invitation to PVRC members in other regions to join us and maybe meet some
contesters you've only heard on the air. There's a good chance one of the
local members can put you up in a spare bedroom (or a mattress in the
shack!) if you need to stay over. Let us know.
Please contact Jeff, NX9T, at nx9t at aol.com with your reservations. For
PVRCNC East Chapter members, if for some reason you will not be able to
attend, please send him an email anyway so we can keep the list updated and
won't have to follow up.
Look forward to seeing you at both the November and this special December
meeting and of course in all the Fall contests.
73,
Jim, K4QPL
Chapter Chairman
