[PVRCNC] SS Outlook

I'm by no means a propagationist, but reading the K7RA solar update on the
ARRL web site holds out some hope that the bands will perform this weekend
resembling the olden days of a few years ago when the sunspot cycle meant
sunspots. Hopefully TS Gamma will stay far enough south to not cause QRN.

Watch for good rate on 15 and if 10M opens, that's often where you may find
rare VY1, KL7 and KH6. If these bands are open it will also spread things
out and make life easier for low power and QRP stations.

PVRCNC-East had a good Meeting On The Air session Wednesday with audio
tuneups, setting response curves and checking microphones. Several stations
dramatically improved their contesting "punch" with reports and tips from
some of the top operators. Getting more bang for your watt is never more
important than in SS. Spend some time before the contest preparing and
adjusting your speech processor. They do work. And check that VOX delay.
Better for those relays to click a few times than have a longer "hang" time
than is needed in a contest.

Let's get those PVRC stations operating with lots of logs and big scores.

Good luck, and good hunting.

 GO PVRC!!
