I wasn't sure I'd get to operate at all, after arriving late from a
business trip on Saturday evening. Since I currently do not have a home
station, this was my first contest in almost 2 years. I was not sure I
would remember the code. I went K8MR mode (single operator/multi
station) to maximize club points. Station #1 was at K4HA. Bob made it
easy and had the station fired up with N1MM ready to go. Having never
seen N1MM before, I liked it overall. It isn't too bad for a CT diehard
like me.
Station #2 was my installation of a 40m attic dipole at my current
antenna restricted QTH. The entire station (primitive as it is) was set
up between 4:00-5:00 on Sunday afternoon after returning from K4HA's. I
used N1MM on my laptop, but it wasn't as smooth this time. It crashed 2
times with an error message of "cwIF.exe is already running". No data
was lost, and it came right back after a restart. Any ideas what is
going on here? The setup is just N1MM on the laptop with an LPT CW
interface to the radio. No rig interfaces or anything else was hooked
up.
It was good to work lots of old friends and get back on the radio
again...
