As announced at the last meeting, we are using the summer months to check
out new locations. From informal discussions the guidelines were to find
someplace more "local", where one could have a beer or glass of wine, and a
change from the Cary area.
I've checked out several and followed up on members suggestions. By a
process of elimination (too noisy, too smoky, too expensive, too cheap), so,
The envelope, please.......
our July meeting on Thursday, July 7, will be at Manchesters Bar and Grill,
9109 Leesville Road, Raleigh 27613. Gather as early as you want for 6 p.m.
Manchesters is in the Pinecrest Shopping Center which is 0.8 miles going
south on Leesville at the Leesville Road exit of I-540. Mapquest location:

Being just off I-540 it should be convenient for N Raleigh, Wake Forest, and
RTP. Check the map for access from Millbrook, Glenwood, Crabtree, etc.
They have a very nice private room at no extra charge. Non smoking, sound
well insulated AND WE CAN TURN OFF THE MUSIC & PA SYSTEM!
It's locally owned, clean, tasteful and the manager, Rosalie, is very
helpful. We have no minimum. Tables are extension type and can be put
together so everyone eats at the same table. Separate checks but with the
standard mandatory group service charge in lieu of tips.
The menu has a wide variety of appetizers, pizzas, burgers, sandwiches,
pasta, grills, etc. ranging from about $7.50 upwards.
This will be 4th of July week, and some may be out of town. I warned Rosalie
it could be a light turnout. Prove me wrong. If you are in town PLEASE try
to attend so we can get some feedback, positive or negative.
Another special meeting at a secret location is being planned for August.
Hear about it at the July Meeting. I hope we can see everyone there.
73,
Jim, K4QPL
