For what it's worth, Korey and I are both (currently deposed, as it
were) members of Cape Fear ARS in Fayetteville, NC, and as
the "senior" PVRC member in F'ville (I've been a member for nearly a
year and a half!), I hereby wholely recommend him for membership.
Looking forward to seeing you all when I get back from Afghanistan in
April. Doesn't look like I'll be transmitting from YA-land this time.
Too many hurdles for an infantryman who can't get to Kabul on a whim
to get a license.
I'm keeping busy learning to program PIC microcontrollers. I'm trying
to develop an LCD-touchscreen switched remote antenna/stackmatch/rotor
controller. The hardware is easy, but learning this software stuff....
well, I've got a long way to go. I think it could really simplify
keeping emitters straight during a long contest, however, especially
for single ops/SO2R. I really should have learned programming 20 years
ago...
Take care and very 73,
Brad
