Hi, Everyone.

My name is Korey and I'm currently deployed to Iraq with the 327th
Signal Battalion (Airborne) out of Fort Bragg, NC. I'm interested in
joining the PVRC upon my return to North Carolina in November. I believe
I could make a contribution to the club's contest efforts.

I hold the Iraqi reciprocal call of YI9VCQ and have been heavily
involved in contesting. I've competed in the CQWW 160 CW, CQWW WPX CW
and SSB, ARRL DX CW and SSB, and IOTA contest as CW-only. CW is my
favored mode, but I did manage to score just over 1-million points in
the CQWW SSB 2005. Also, I placed #3 Asia in the ARRL DX CW 2005. All my
entries were low-power.

My station equipment here in Iraq consists of an Icom IC-706MkIIG,
Kenwood TS-2000, 20m dipole, and TenTec tuner. My equipment back in NC
consists of an Icom IC-756ProIII, Hustler 6-BTV vertical, and a fan
dipole for 40/80m. I currently use Writelog as my logging software with
a Rigblaster Pro as the CW and voice keying interface. At home, I have a
W5XD Multi-keyer for SO2R. I plan to purchase a beam antenna for
20/15/10 and possibly an amplifier upon my return. I will need advice on
the best way to optimize my station setup.

I must say that several members of the Frankford Radio Club have
supported me through words of advice and encouragement during my
deployment. In fact, several of their members have recommended PVRC as
an excellent contesting club. I hope to become a member someday soon.

73,

Korey
