The following is from Bruce Meier, N1LN, who will be retiring and moving to NC from Texas next year. (Jan '07). He already owns land here and is interested in becoming involved with PVRC. I know we keep folks as members after they leave our area---can we get him signed up, or at least receive the newsletter and subscribe to the reflector before he actually gets here?

As you can see he's going to have a great station which he says is "hoping to be competitive SO2R or Multi-two." From the planned antenna farm, Bruce, I'd say it's darn good odds!"

If anyone can help with his tower and antenna needs, contact Bruce direct. I'm sure we will all welcome him to PVRC-NC. Remember Henry, we're going to all be gentlemen and let him choose whether he is PVRCNC West or East!!

"As you know my retirement property is out in your area - actually about 5
miles west of Chapel Hill. I have been gathering antennas as I plan on
changing a few things from what I have now - and I almost done. Just one
more to get. I need one more 15 mtr mono.

The plan calls for (3) towers - 2 rohn 45s about 100' and 1 rohn 25 about
85'.

As for antennas - so far I have:

(2) 2 ele 40 monos
(2) 4 ele 20 monos
(1) 6 ele 15 mono
(1) 4 ele 15 mono
(1) 5 ele 10 mono
(1) 4 ele 10 mono
(1) 10 ele Log (this will be the top 10 mtr as well as 12 / 17)

I have (2) of the towers right now - just need to take them down at the
right time.

Why am I telling you all this... well, if you happen to hear about any rohn
45 for sale in the tri-city area I would really appreciate it if you could
drop me an email. I think I could convince my brother-in-law to store it
at his house for me for a year of so until the installation starts.

By the way - our current plan looks like Jan 07 or soon there after for our
big move. We are BOTH looking forward to it. We are currently working on
the design of the house. Special attention is being paid to the ham shack
area :-))

I am looking forward to meeting you and getting active in east coast
contesting !!

73,
Bruce - N1LN (almost /4)"
