Guys,

$425 gets you the following Heath SB-1000.

This is a single 3-500z amp is in "too good" condition. Bought it
with the idea of conversion to 6M. It turns out that the conversion
would involve hacking up a perfectly good 160-10M amp. (Not really
interested in removing plates from the load/tune caps.)

Had it tested at Omega Electronics. Bill replaced the load and plate
verniers and the plate choke with the pi-wound Ameritron unit. The
original Heath choke is know to have resonant points around 17MHz.

His Bird wattmeter yields the following output with 240 volts and 100
watts drive:

160 800 w
80 900
40 950
20 850
15 900
10 800

Currently wired for 240v but can be easily rewired for 120v.

T/R requires the ability to switch 12 VDC at about 100 ma. I whipped
up a circuit which works with the IC-706 and hot shots the amp T/R
relay to avoid hot switching. Circuit diagram is available.
