Guys,

I wonder if you reset your IF gain after installing the new INRAD 
roofing filter.

What gain number did you end up at or are you using?

For me, it has always been a trade off where to set the gain.  Too low 
a value and 15m (preamp on) sounds dead.  Too high a value and other 
bands have too much noise.

Previously we had the IF mod in place and ended up boosting the IF 
gain two notches to 18 after roofing filter installation.

It is interesting to note that the roofing filter PCB has several wire 
pins sticking up next to the input side.  I didn't trace it out.  I'd 
like to speculate that with an appropriate cable perhaps the 70MHz IF 
mod could also be inserted using this connector -- if one could find a 
place for the board.
