[PVRCNC] PVRC/NC West January minutes

PVRC/NC WEST MEETING MINUTES
JANUARY 2004

	The January 2004 meeting was held on Thursday 1/29 rather than Monday
due to the road conditions from the snowfall earlier in the 
week.

In attendance:

  	 The meeting was brought to order at 7:35pm. By W2DZO/Henry
Heidtmann, Chairman and the following subjects were discussed;

	-The PVRC/Round Table on Echolink headed up by N4ZR/Pete of the Eastern
Chapter was happening that night. Henry commented that he and Gene
WB4MSG had worked Pete and others earlier in the week and all worked
very well. This could be an interesting pre and post-contest tool. 

	-The NC QSO Party will be Feb. 29th 12:00pm-10:00pm EST and is
sponsored by the FORSYTH AMATEUR RADIO CLUB (www.w4nc.com for details)

	-W4WS @ KG4NEP will operate M/S in the upcoming ARRL DX SSB CONTEST.

	The combined PVRC/NC East & West meeting is coming up on March 10 in
Burlington, NC.
	
	-The upcoming WPX SSB contest were also discussed. W2DZO/Henry is
looking for a team to operate with in a multi-multi setup! (Sec.note -If
you can get him I'm sure you won't be sorry!!!)
	-Yours truly KG4NEP will be operating SOAB/ROOKIE/HP in WPX/SSB since
this will be my last year eligible to do so! My goal is to at least win
the US title!

	The meeting was adjourned at 8:10 pm and everyone remained for sometime
to ragchew and polish off the remainder of their meals and beverages. 

	Congratulations to N4IOZ/Tom Gallagher as this was his second
meeting, and he is now vested in PVRC. Tom has also taken the reins of
the FARC this year as President.

	I believe that puts us up to 12 total PVRC/NC West members!!!
