The meeting was brought to order at 7:10pm. Talk quickly turned to Field
Day which was held at Hobby Park.
A new location this year! The turn out was absolutely great with
wonderful weather, good food, great camaraderie with friends old and
new;
and plenty of radio! Forsyth Amateur Radio Clubs call W4NC and GOTA
station W4WS made around 1000 q's over the weekend.
The meeting came to a close with a good time had by all and the usual
technical jargon on the local repeater on the ride home!!!
Respectfully submitted

The Big news is W4WS finished 5th in CQ World Wide SSB 2003 Multi-single
USA with a final score of 3,538,161. This is the best finish ever for
the W4WS group! We also had our QRM posted in the leading paragraph of
CQ Magazine's CQWW writeup.
I feel this is a testament to the hard work and dedication of this group
of very fine contesters that I'm very proud to be part of. Plans are
already in the works for CQWW 2004. Henry Heidtmann/W2DZO deserves a big
pat on the back for his motivation and drive that keeps this group
striving to place higher year after year!!!!
Henry is on his annual fishing trip this week but congratulations were
passed through the group via the W4WS reflector.
Next big event is NAQP- Lots of work to do at the station- We'll use
NAQP to shake out the cobwebs and make a work list. Jobs include
changing out the 20 meter rotor, reinstalling the 15M stack, and redoing
the 80m vertical radials, whch lost the battle to the lawnmowers over
the summer. The 2L 40 needs a boom adjustment as well.
The meeting was adjourned and everyone shared the usual technical jargon
and other words of wisdom on the ride home over the local repeater.
