The Forsyth Amateur Radio Club, sponsor of the North Carolina QSO
Party, 146.64, 145.47 and 444.75 repeaters in Forsyth County, NC will
be hosting the annual Winston-Salem Classic Hamfest on Saturday, June 7,

2003 at the Dixie Classic Fairgrounds. We are excited about our new
indoor AIR CONDITIONED building as well as, in keeping with the
tradition of the classic hamfest, our fleamarket area and unlimited
tailgating section. If you've ever been to one of our events, you know
it's a great time, a good place to stock up on Field Day items, and one
of the only hamfest which features a free fireworks show on Friday
night. Many people make a habit of arriving Friday evening and camping
out (no hookups? Then its free!), enjoying a festive pizza blow-out
while
carousing with other hams and watching a great display from Ernie Shore
Field, located across the street from the hamfest. Or, drop your stuff
off
and check out the Friday night Class A
Winston-Salem Warthogs game within walking distance of the hamfest. We
will have breakfast and lunch fare available from 6AM-1PM on Saturday.
Gates open on Friday for load-in at 4pm.
With apologies to David Letterman, here is our top 10 list of why
this hamfest should not be missed-

 10. Free fireworks show at 10PM Friday
 9. Pizza and various beverages around 9PM Friday night
 8. Henry W2DZO's BBQ and hot dogs
 7. Stock up for Field Day
 6. We sponsor the North Carolina QSO Party
 5. NBA playoffs on TV during the party
 4. Hamfests are a dying breed- support your local repeater sponsors!
 3. Come Friday and sleep out under the stars
 2. $5.00 to get in- cheap, cheap, cheap!

And the Number 1 reason why you should come to the Winston-Salem
Hamfest...

 1. Its over by 1PM- time to shop, browse, chat, meet new hams, and you
still have the entire afternoon to play with all the toys you bought!

All the information about tickets, tables and reservations are at
www.w4nc.com- just click on the Hamfest button. As part of our
commitment to regional hamfests, many of the club members have attended
the other hamfests to support them- we hope y'all can make it to ours!
We hope to see you bright and early Saturday, but please consider coming

Friday night and enjoying the pre-hamfest pizza /fireworks blast!
Please feel free to forward this email to anyone you might think is
interested in attending- club lists, etc.
