Guys,

Here's an interesting tidbit which makes me 100% against buying a
Lexmark printer.

It seems that LEXMARK is suing a NC firm which makes replacement ink
cartridges.

At first, the cartridge was of standard design and the NC firm simply
could make identical replacements. After LEXMARK lost considerable
market share (like 50%) they installed a microchip in their ink
cartridges which, if missing, prevents the printer from working. The
NC firm reverse engineered the chip and produced the same product.
LEXMARK is suing based upon copyright infringement of the embedded
software.
