To Carnac,
FYI, in a contest which penalizes one 3 qso's for each busted call and
also removes the busted contact, the most negative score one can get
is:
SCORE = (-9/16) (CLAIMED SCORE).
The only assumption made is that the ratio of busted
multipliers/busted calls equals the ratio of claimed
multipliers/claimed total QSO's. With this assumption, the mimimum
occurs where the number of busted calls= 5/8 of the claimed QSO's.
Thus one may be able to get a score of -1,000,000 by a claimed score
as little as a bit less than 2,000,000 points. One would have to
bust only about 1000 out of 1600 Q's to do so. I'm sure this N or N+B
rate existed in the old paper log SS era. At least that is the rumor
about how some guys scored so well in SS back then.
Carnac might be able to do somewhat worse (better?) by having a larger
ratio of busted multipliers/busted calls. I'm working on that
sensitivity now.
Someone want to sponsor a plaque most most negative score? I feel
this a an achievement which deserves being recognized.
