Not so! I have two old buddies in that club, Laci Radnay (W1PL), and Joe
Watson, (W1WLW). Laci's a real old, old, old-timer, and Joe's a coupla years
older'n me. Both are DX'ers of note. If you look closely at the listing,
there are other US stations, but not many...probably because the Super High
Speed CW Club meets to ragchew regularly on 80 meters. I'll be damned if I'll
put up with that static-laden band and try to copy at 50 WPM....
Note: because of physical limitations, I can't send a word over 45 wpm and
have it be intelligible...but I've copied in excess of 60 WPM in my head, and
got a certificate at Dayton for copying 40 WPM with a pencil.
CW is alive and well, and it's great to have some youngsters (like Nate,
N4YDU) make mince meat out of Morse. Kinda cheers me up, despite the "shack
on a belt" crowd.
