[PVRCNC] Tale of two parts

Here's an interesting occurrence.

I ordered a bunch of parts via Internet.  
The robot returned a confirmation and said parts would be here in
about a week. A day later an E-mail said it had been shipped.

Part I

After two weeks had passed, I queried the company about the shipment.
They said they had been sent and to wait a bit longer. Red flag! One
of those front companies that collects credit card numbers only?

A few days later the parts arrived.  They were in an envelope from
Thailand.  The package had been inspected by US Customs.  Shipping
charges were $4 US.
What the???

Part II
Why from Thailand?  It turns out that the company ordered from was in
Australia.  The web site was quite normal with everything quoted in
USD.  No hint of its location.  Of course, they had no problem with a
US credit card.
I suppose if I were paranoid, I'd cancel the credit card before it
ends up all over Oceania and Asia.
