Agree. Figure out where you want the internet hub to be in the house.
Wire RJ45 to every conceivable PC spot in the house from the hub spot.
This is where a hub switch goes, and possibly a multiport router. Then
one more RJ45 from there to somewhere else that gets the cable modem
output.
You actually might want the hub switch located in a closet or the
attic or something hidden. That way you can have 10 or 15 cat5 cables
coming out of the wall and not create an appearance problem.
You could daisy chain Ethernet coax, but that ain't the wave of the
future.
How big will the new operating room be?
