When I purchased the Pro-2006 Radio Shack told me that they would support
their equipment with parts and service for 20 years.

Hi Justin, and Pro-2006'ers,
? I'm not an expert on this, but if you have rust or corrosion from moisture
or battery leakage, this may be the beginning of even worse problems.? ? If
you have not already done so, find a chemical appropriate for cleaning
circuit boards; that is, a chemical that will not damage the circuit board
traces or leads on the components.???Once corrosion starts, it spreads, and
you might not be able to stop it otherwise.? Corroded circuit boards are not
easily repairable, and often are not repairable.
? Second, I doubt that Radio Shack has parts for this radio anymore, unless
they are standard components.???It's also very likely that Radio Shack won't
service a scanner that is this old.? Check the Radio Shack website to see.
? Third, if you insist on another Pro-2006, you can find them for sale on
scanner websites such as www.radioreference.com, or at a large hamfest.
That may be a more viable solution.
???Good luck.
?

Hi, typically consumer electronics are supported for about 5-7 years if you're
lucky, 20 years sounds like an over zealous salesperson. A good cleaner for
battery leakage on PC boards is a Q-tip and vinegar, this neutralizes the
battery leakage,?get after it?ASAP, good luck,? Ken
