What part of 800 MHz are you referring to? Public service trunked?
Cellular?
Not all public service on 800 is digital by any means. For instance, the
City of Green Bay and the Oneida Indian Reservation/Casinos near where I
live are both analog Motorola trunked systems. If you are talking about
cellular phone frequencies, the FCC has given the 800 MHz carriers until
February of 2008 that they have to keep some analog capacity available.
After that, there will most likely be no more analog cellular at all. 95%
of cellular now is CDMA or GSM with some TDMA and iDEN around which are all
digital and/or spread spectrum.
