Hi Jay: I am very much interested in your Pro 2006 and price is not a
problem. I already have both a 2004 and a 2006, but never had the Opto scan
feature. Can you summarize for me just what it does. And, is the display
on yours in good shape. Mine is working, but seems to be dimming. So, not
sure if it is trying to go out or what. On the other hand my 2004 is like
new. Wonder if the opto scan board would install in it too. Understand the
opto scan boards are not longer available. Please advise. Thanks, Bill/K3YC

I've got a Radio Shack PRO-2006 scanner with the Optoscan 456 board
installed for sale. I purchased it new and have the service manual,
the OS456 documentation, the original box and a spare backlight panel
included and all for $300 plus shipping. The unit is in great shape
and has not had any problems.

This particular combination makes a great dual scanner setup as the
Pro-2006/OS456 is a very fast scanner with the ability to scan the
complete range of the Pro-2006 without any locked out frequencies. In
my dual scanner setup, I used it to scan the bands for activity and
then used my R-7000 to monitor the traffic found. I also used the Pro-
2006 to scan and record band segments for activity recording signal
levels ect while I was away. I found a lot of aircraft frequencies
that way. It's a great receiver and amazingly versatile with the
OS456 board.
