[Pro2006] Source for center tune panel meter?

Hello All,

I am performing the standard "Add a center tune meter" modification
to a PRO2006 and have the following problem: The meter provided by the
customer points to center with zero input, and seems not to work with the
circuit in the Bill Cheek book. TP2 (signal) seems to hang around +3.4V(I
think?) for correct signal, and swing low or high for off frequency signals
- but never goes negative. As such it took several hours for my blinding
intellect to realize I would never be able to swing the needle less than
center with all positive signal voltages.
So now it seems I need one of two things:
A)Some other kind of panel meter - one that reads negative with zero input
and could be set to center using the Bill Cheek circuit.
B) A new signal point in the 2006 which is at zero when the signal is on
freq, and swings low and high some amount proportional to frequency offset.
Does anyone know of a point in the 2006 which behaves this way?
