You are right about ol' Bill Cheek. He was a legend when it came to scanner
modifications. Bill could take a subject as complicated as adding the
capacity for 25,600 channels and lay it out so that a novice could do the
mod. When he died I felt like I lost an old time friend. I, too, highly
recommend his three scanner modification books. Lot of good hints and tips
in there that will help a person better understand any scanner. If you
could locate back issues of his newsletter "The World Scanner Report", they
are also excellent sources of information, tips, tricks, and general
knowledge of the trade.
