$420,000?!?? Wow, what a ripoff. I have some literature and correspondence
from CCS from the early 90's (around 1992, I believe). The DDI kit sold for
$175 and the complete assembled unit sold for $230. The thing is, this only
decoded analog control channels and paging commands. There is so little
analog left, that even if you wanted to use it for it's intended purpose, it
would have extremely limited usefulness. I'm not an attorney, but I doubt
mere possession is a crime. Using it may be, however. Can't imagine why
anybody would want to watch that info scroll by, though. About as boring as
watching paint dry.
BTW, in order to use the DDI with a PRO-2006, it required changing a
capacitor (I think) out on the audio board and tapping the audio at that
point. It needed 10 Khz of audio to work right.
