Aha!
Scanner Mod Volume 2 has a good discussion on this
circuit starting on page 17.
It doesn't address my specific problem, but gives
enough information that I should be able to figure it
out.
The regulator is actually IC-9.
Don't know how I missed it before, skimmed to lightly
I guess.
Anyway, thanks all for your input.
If I get it fixed I'll let the list know for future
ref.
