[Pro2006] PRO-43 problems

I have two Radio Shack PRO-43's and one of them just went dead.  It worked
one day and the next day it didn't.  When first turning the unit on it makes
the typical faint thump or pop, but then nothing... no display, no sound, no
squelch, nothing.  It seems like maybe a capacitor is starting to charge,
but then the power just quits.  I do have a service manual and I'm
suspecting maybe one of  the two voltage regulators IC305 or IC307.  Just
wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what you found the problem
to be.
