Hi Gary. Quoting from Bill Cheek's book "The Ultimate Scanner 3" on page
39 where he says and I paraphrase; the PRO-2005 can basically be upgraded
to a 2006 with a simple squelch modification and replacing the stock CPU
with the CPU from the 2006, then change the 7.37mhz to a 12mhz crystal and
making the keyboard matrix match the 2006. SO, it sounds like the 2005 and
2006 are very close in thier operational specs. Hope this answers your
