[Pro2006] PRO 2006 Problem

I have a pro 2006 for about 5 or 6 years now and I recently hooked it up
after sitting in the closet for about 6 months or so.  When I turned it on,
the low battery alert was flashing and beeping.  I replaced the battery and
it still does it.  I opened the scanner and checked with a meter and it IS
getting power at the board.  I took the battery out and unplugged it for
about 5 minutes and turned it back on and everything reset.  When I put the
battery back in and did the same thing, it holds memory fine, so the backup
circut IS working ok, it just keeps flashing the BATT alert and beeping
every few seconds and it is very annoying.  If anyone knows anything about
this or knows someone who may be able to help me fix this, I would
appreciate it.  Thanks.
