[Pro2006] Backlight vs. LED Unit

I have had a 2006 for some time and never needed to repair or modify it. =

The scanner's light has gone out.  I contacted Radio Shack and they told =
me that the backlight is no longer available, but that I could purchase =
the entire LED unit.

Any suggestions?  Should I purchase the entire unit? What are the =
considerations? =20
