I had a failure on the A5 synthesizer board. I called Toronto Surplus, as
they have spare parts, but they wanted $850 for a checked synthesizer board.
Therefore, I decided to troubleshoot the radio. Q13 had passed away. It
was a $5 fix.
SSL seems to have the filter in stock.

Good luck with your HF2050.

Subject: [Premium-Rx] Collins HF2050 99MHz Xtal Filter
My Collins HF2050 receiver has never passed the self test that is initiated
when the "Test" button is pressed, the fault is indicated to be in the A6 RF
Translator Assembly. I finally got around to looking into this more
carefully and found the gain through the translator was about 20dB low which
explains the translator fault. Trouble shooting the translator, the faulty
component was found to be the 99MHz Xtal filter.
Does anyone on the list have a spare 99MHz Xtal filter they can sell to me
or better yet a whole A6 translator assembly. I know quite a few of these
were demiled back about 20 years ago so perhaps some spares are available
still. Everything else about the receiver is functioning correctly and I
would really like to put it in operation in my station once I get it working
properly.
Thanks,
Mark WA1QHQ
