[Premium-Rx] Friedrichshafen 2022 is over… planning for 2023!

This year”s hamfest in Friedrichshafen is just over, and to me it has been simply FANTASTIC!!!
Most of all, it was wonderful meeting in person some great people, including a few friends I have been in contact with on the air for over 40 years but had never had the opportunity today seeing “vis à vis” until now.

And what a wonderful selection of radio equipment, both new and used… A few humongous Zeppelin hangars full of tempting treasures, including of course hundreds of premium receivers! I felt like a kid in a candy shop. 
It must have been a massive effort to organise something like this, and to make it work all together as a well oiled machine. 

A few weeks ago I sent a message to this email group explaining my goals: A Collins 851S-1, a Racal RA 6790GM and an RFT EKD500 which I could ideally pick up at the fair. Mission accomplished, after deciding to change the RA 6790GM for a beautiful Racal RA 3701 in immaculate condition.
Thanks is too little a word for the kindness I received from Henk PA0HKZ, Heinz DH2FA, and Zlatko 9A6SUE, who helped me to meet my goals. Thank to them I have now these nice new toys in my shack, and some very exciting shortwave listening time ahead of me. 

This has been my first trip to the Friedrichshafen hamfest. I will never forget the experience, and I am already making plans to come back next year.
