The follow are available from Dennis Karski's estate sale.  Pictures
available on request from me.  If you are interested in purchasing,
contact Jim via DK at videoterm.com

These items will be available for inspection/sale (if not sold
beforehand) at the Dennis Karski Memorial Hamfest in Milwaukee, WI on
Oct 23-24 and if it doesn't sell, it will be at Dayton next year.

All items are sold as-is.
-----------

WJ-8969 IFC and TU0145 in a 2U rack frame. Tested with a simple Wavetek
sig gen and found to receive over it's frequency range. In very nice
condition. $2900 plus packing and shipping from 53132. Please contact
Jim, dk at videoterm.com if you are interested.  Paper copies of the
manuals for the IFC and TU will be included. The manuals are also
available for download from my website.
-----------

WJ-8969 IFC controller/demodulator. Tested with both a TU0145 and TU0412
and works fine with both. This sale is for the IFC only. The other items
in the picture were used for testing the controller. Available for $1600
plus packing and shipping from 53132. Please contact Jim,
dk at videoterm.com if you are interested.  The manual for the IFC is
available for download from my website.
-----------

Watkins-Johnson TU0412 4-12.4 GHz microwave tuner for the WJ-8969
receiver, tested and receiving. Occasionally sends a 2nd LO unlocked
warning to the IFC (which is not included, this sale is for the tuner
section only).  $1200 plus packing and shipping from 53132. Please
contact Jim, dk at videoterm.com if you are interested.
-----------

A very rare radio for sale. The Watkins-Johnson WJ-8969C was redesigned
for some classified project(s) by the WJ San Jose Reconnaissance
Division starting from the Gaithersburg designed WJ-8969. Tested with a
simple Wavetek sig gen and found signs of life but periodically shows
unlock conditions on the LOs and frequency entry is erratic. In very
nice condition. $2900 plus packing and shipping from 53132. Please
contact Jim, dk at videoterm.com if you are interested. This may be the
only one of these radios in private hands. Given the nature of the
radio, it is only available to a US buyer to be safely within ITAR
guidelines. This radio is significantly different the the Gaithersburg
WJ-8969 and it is unknown how much of the manual for that earlier
version will be applicable to this radio.

A system from Dennis Karski's listening post that is now for sale in his
estate. A Watkins-Johnson WJ-9548 multi-channel FDM demodulator and an
AM-105-2 12 channel audio monitor. Dennis assembled this to
simultaneously receive 12 USB Volmet weather and HF airplane channels.
The demod with a small front end preamp picks all up 12 frequencies
(programmable for any HF frequency and either USB or LSB) and AM-105
allows you to toggle which ones go to a recorder or a speaker (or mute).
Multiple signals can be monitored at the same time and the COR light
will tell you which one is active. You could also monitor amateur band
nets, beacons...

A renowed WJ engineer told me the WJ-9548, which was one of their first
products to use the Motorola DSP56000 series of ICs, inspired the
company to create the WJ-8711. He and another engineer were tuning
around the HF bands with the WJ-9548 after a trade show and realized
they could design an HF radio around similar circuitry. It took some
lobbying to get management on board, but when an end user approached
with suitable development funds, the WJ-8711 was born.

These two items with cabling for ready interconnection made by Dennis
and the four parts units can be yours for $1800 plus packing and
shipping. I fired up the demod and it appears to work, though the
display is readable, the contrast is low. Four "sanitized" parts units
are included from which a display can be repurposed. If you are
interested, contact Jim via DK at videoterm.com.

Another item from the Karski estate sale. A Watkins-Johnson WJ-9472
demodulator. This has the FSK/OOK module and will handle any mark tone,
any space tone and a wide range of baud rates. I fired it up and it
appears to work, though I didn't have any signals to feed. In near mint
condition. I have a proof manual (edited by engineers and has their
corrections and comments) and will scan it for the buyer. $850 plus
packing and shipping from 53132.
------------

From the Karski estate sale, an Astro-Link MTR-209 demodulator. It
tunes 50-90 MHz and demodulates FM and BPSK. Other than that it is a
mystery box to me. With his station and antennas dismantled, I didn't
have access to a 70 MHz satellite IF to check it out in detail, but
everything appears to operate as it should. Just $275 plus packing and
shipping from 53132. Contact Jim via DK at videoterm.com
------------

Dennis Karski's estate has a Watkins-Johnson WJ-1250 with all six
plug-ins. 0.5-1 GHz, 1-2 GHz, 2-4 GHz, 4-8 GHz, 8-12.4 GHz and 12.5-18
GHz. I tested the entire system and all the plug-ins. There is some key
bounce on the mainframe, but relatively manageable. Three plug-ins lock
onto any frequency, two plugins lock over most of their range. The
12.4-18 GHz only locks up to about 13.5 GHz. These may be just alignment
issues.  Shipping is available. Manuals for the mainframe and some
plug-ins will be included.  Available for $4500 with all six RF heads
plus packing and shipping.
-------------

Dennis Karski's estate has a Watkins-Johnson WJ-1204-1 microwave sweep
generator. Tested and found to sweep a variety of ranges between 1 to 8
GHz. There is some dark segments on the LEDs. Otherwise in good shape.
Manuals are included.  Available for $3000 plus packing and shipping.
-------------

There is much more test equipment and really unusual stuff... You might
want to make the trip for this once in a lifetime estate sale.
