It is rare to find a Watkins-Johnson WJ-8999 in private hands. This is
from an estate. I traded the now deceased owner for its twin about 12
years ago because it is an awesome and unique radio. DC to 12.4 GHz, a
high resolution spectrum display 200 MHz wide, twenty IF bandwidths from
100 Hz to 200 MHz, demodulation of AM, FM and CW, all kinds of inputs
and outs. The new price was a bit upwards of $250,000.

This radio worked beautifully last time I tried it (pre-Covid). It now
has a display board problem. It appears to operate based on how the
screen changes as you work through the menus and options. I chased bad
tantalums in the one I owned twice while I owned it, finally replacing
all of them on one board in the DCU before I sold it. This radio (just
like the one I traded for) is offered as-is. (pictures on request)

I only have a picture of the DCU control unit. The TSU is the same size
with a blank front panel. Original connecting cables are included. When
I sold mine about 7 years ago, it was ITAR listed and could not be
exported. This radio is fully Tempest compliant and in still in demand
by companies that do Tempest testing.

A digital copy of the full manual will be included (it is not on my
website because of ITAR restrictions). At the moment, no shipping, but
delivery to a connection anywhere within 500 miles of Milwaukee, WI is
possible.
I'm posting it here so hobbyists have a chance at it before it goes into
the corporate world. This is a rare chance to own the Bugatti Veyron of
radios and standout from the Ferraris and Lamborghinis of the world.

Contact DK at videoterm.com for details. I am not the seller.
