Hello to the group,
out of an estate of an avid collector I picked up a shortwave receiver EN-R2 which was built by Intermarine Electronics Inc.
Unfortunately no address is given on the type plate, just „Made in USA“.
Various date codes on integrated circuits are from 1981.
Google didn’t find anything about it.
Frequency range is 10 kHz to 30 MHz, tuning steps are 10 Hz, 100 Hz and 50 kHz. Operating modes are LSB, USB, CW, AM and F1B.
I count five crystal filters made by NETCOM, center frequency is 5.2 MHz. There is an empty spot for a sixth filter but the front panel has only 4 push buttons to select filters which are labeled VNAR, NAR, INTR, LSB (very narrow, narrow, intermediate and LSB. If no push botton is pressed the USB filter is selected.
The receiver has an LCD display down to 10Hz.
The receiver is in working condition but programming of the memories is not straightforward. I would appreciate to get a manual for it, hopefully with a schematic. I can receive AM broadcast stations but bandwidth is quite narrow.
According to a glued on tag it seems that this receiver once served with the U.S.M.C. which probably translates to United States Marine Corps. There is a U.S.M.C. Plant Account No. listed.
Any help appreciated.
