[Premium-Rx] Cubic R3000 series repairs

Hello Everyone


Without sounding  impertinent  Has anyone here ever repaired any of the Cubic R3000 series Modules except the power supply.
Is there  any good quality circuits for the R3000 series radios as the soft copy manuals I have, some circuit values are barely readable. 
I guess Cubic never thought of compiling a parts list, as you would find in a good Harris or Collins service manual.

What is the purpose of the white substance that covers the vco's, can it be safely removed, as it renders repairs impossible.
I wonder what happened to all the spare modules, I suppose they were scraped.

I am guessing you need a module extender to do an alignment of the tuned circuits, enough for now.
