[Premium-Rx] Help with Hagenuk R-1001 Issue

Hello to everyone and happy 2020.    Wonder if there are any Hagenuk 
R-1001 owners out there who can help with an issue.  I recently acquired 
one of these receivers from a German seller -- condition appears from 
physical shape to be new/surplus.  It arrived with the small spares box 
which contained only a DC power connector -- no AC cable was supplied.   
In reading the manual, I know there are specific issues regarding the 
internal RAM battery, including instructions regarding what to do if the 
receiver is off power for more than 12 days, etc   There are also DIP 
switches, which I placed in what I believe is the right position for 
power and/or re-charging of the battery if the receiver is re-connected 
to power.  But using DC 24 volts/3 amps, the receiver does not power 
on.  So, I am wondering if anyone out there with experience on this rig 
can assist with any information.  I am considering modifying the AC jack 
so the receiver can be tested on 120 volts (fuse is already correct for 
that).   Thanks....
