[Premium-Rx] JRC NRD-301A encoder

Greetings to all on the list.

Does anyone have experience with the JRC NRD-301A receiver's optical encoder?  It tunes down in frequency without issue but when slowly tuning up it occasionally skips or steps down.  The faster you turn the knob the worse it gets to the point where it only tunes down when spun in either direction.  The front panel frequency up and down buttons still work properly so the issue is with the encoder.
