[Premium-Rx] Cubic CDR-3150 self test failure

Hello,
I was offered a Cubic CDR-3150 which shows a "Failed Program ROM Sum Check" error message when powered on. 
This error message clears after pressing any key. The receiver appears to be fully working otherwise. 

Any idea what might cause the error message? Could it be as simple as an empty backup battery? 

As I already have enough units awaiting repair for another life I don't really need another defective receiver to stack onto my to-do-pile.
