[Premium-Rx] Info needed on Cubic CDR 3150

Hello,
I was offered a Cubic CDR-3150 VLF HF receiver.

When switched on it shows:
FAILED POWER ON SELFTEST
Failed Program ROM Sum Check
Press Any Key to Continue 

After pressing a key the receiver seems to be fully working. Any idea what might cause this failure message?
Could it be as simple as an empty Lithium battery?

Anybody has a service manual available or knows a source?
