[Premium-Rx] Cubic R-4211V(U3)

So, against all better judgment I have leaped into a new
area of premium radios, and obtained a great condition
Cubic R2411(V) 3/U from a seller at the Berryville, VA Hamfest.

​After some initial testing, have to say I am VERY impressed,
having used many other premium sets from WJ to Harris and
JRC.

Can others in the group who are Cubic owners enlighten me
on some things.  IF Passband tuning is available only in CW
mode?  IF PBT shows OFF when in AM.  I assume there is no
way to alter this?

Also assume I'm stuck with 3.0 khz BW in LSB/USB?  And has
anyone replaced the rear ventilation fan with a quietier model?

I see the manual is available in PDF format on the Internet.
If anyone in the group can provide me with additional operating
advice, it would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.​
