It's time to part with one of my 6790s.
 
The radio is passing BITE at the moment, although will from time to time  
generate a filter-related error code.
 
The receiver is actually working in USB/LSB but won' recognize any of the  
other filters when running BITE or when other mods are selected (it defaults 
to  the broadest filter).
 
The receiver is equipped with 7 crystal filters - all the ones you'd want I 
 guess  - USB, LSB, 0.4, 1.2, 3.24, 6.7, and 16 khz, and also has an asynch 
 card that I have never used.
 
This receiver was assembled from spare boards from a repair depot several  
years ago, and was running well up until recently when it faulted after the  
monthly overnight test.
 
The keypads seemed to function well, and the displays are crisp and  
well-lit with recent new incandescents installed when the receiver was put  
together.
 
The radio has a WJ tuning knob that rattles a bit if you spin it quickly  
but it never really bothered me in normal use.
 
The strictly AS IS price is $350 cash if picked up in the western suburbs  
of Chicago, $400 plus shipping if you want it shipped.  Price is firm,  at 
least for a while, as I'll part it out if there is no interest.  I  expect 
there is a simple failure on the main board, but am not inclined to try  to 
trouble shoot it further at this point, as it's herd thinning time  anyway.
