A descendant of the company Selex is still active, perhaps particularly in
India, and now as a subsidiary of Finmeccanicca. (Back in the day Elmer
Selex also produced a number of the General Dynamics R-1051 receiver)

"Speaking to "India Strategic" Mr Grasso said: “Many of the companies (as
Elmer, Marconi etc.) which constitute the “roots” of Selex Communications
started their activities in the military market in India in the 1980s. Just
to mention the most important activity, Selex Communications is the
supplier of avionics systems like Doppler/ GPS navigation systems and HF
and V/ UHF radios for many of the fixed and rotary platforms manufactured
in the Country. Moreover, in partnership with HAL and BEL, SELEX is
supplying to the Indian Navy advanced HF communication systems for most of
the platforms and ground stations. We are also collaborating with BEL for
the supply of tactical deployable Tetra system (TETRATAC) to the Army.”

He pointed out that together with other Finmeccanica group companies and
local partners, SELEX was involved in some of the major programmes under
way in India related to tactical communications, for instance the TCS for
the Indian Army, to the communications component of the Battlefield
