[Premium-Rx] 6HS6'es

Hi All,

Not exactly premium Rx this one, but I think you are still some of the 
best guys to ask.

I'm looking for a source, preferably UK, of 6hs6 valves (tubes to the US 
contingent...) for an R4B that I've just acquired.

Their are none on Ebay UK, and no UK valve supplier has stock.
I can buy them on Ebay in the US, but shipping is coming in at twice the 
price of the device :-(

Their seems to be some debate as to whether the 6ah6 is a suitable 
alternative, looking at the data it seems possible, but it's Gm is 500 
microculombs lower.
I've ordered some of these to try, as they are readily available "dirt 
cheap" in the UK.
Has anyone had any experience in using 6ah6'es in location V2 or V8 of 
the R4B. Only one of the 6hs6'es is dead, so I can fit a 6ah6 in either 
location, or fit 6ah6'es in both locations if this is considered better.

I'm not a valve (tune) expert, having only touched on the thermionic era 
at college, and some of our "old dears" still had valve TV's when I 
started in the TV trade, but I generally left their repairs to the 
senior workshop guy who knew them backwards (the TV's not the old 
dears...), so any hints would be much appreciated.
