Hi All,

Time to collect the stones now...
I'm looking for person who is owner of  REGCO RG-5500 VHF UHF Receiver for exchange information, experience, pictures and other information about.

My own i get fm e-Bay in Jan. 2013 fm USA. It was sold as not working or for spare parts. When it arrived and i  spent a good time with it and understand clearly
at least some few people tryed bring it back to life, but negative results. Job was made not accuratelly with bad quality: many delicate special RF cables badly bended and even broken.

Mesh with all cables, wrong connection, their mark labels lost and unit totally dead.
After that i understans that in the USA not so much people with good, golden hands-nothing unusual, exactly the same situation in my own land-Russia...

Spent two winter season to bring back all of this  yellow bullshet back to normal condition. Plus made new VCO for tracking synthesizer (extremelly difficult job), then find out some
faults in digital section, burned first rf amplifier in low band section and so on... and soon.

Now it looks like a new, working well, but job not finished yet...That radio extremelly rare, weird, beast with RF section fully plated gold, especially inside!!! Looking really nice.
I got also some other receivers Winradio G-305e SDR and Standard AX700 B, but REGCO number one for me!

Modern, small, plastic toys not so much interested for me.

So, if anyone interested about that story, please don't hessitate and drope me the message to discuss this really interested things.
By the way accordance with  ex owner information my REGCO was in use in Fort Mead, NSA...
Date stamped on the memory batterys is 1985-so it was in use till that period of time...

Sorry for the language, it not my own. Iif any mistake there...

Welcome and thanks in advance if You readed this MSG till to the end...

Best Regards From Russia

Boris
