[Premium-Rx] Racal RA1795 build dates?

Having recently acquired an RA1795, I'm trying to find out approximately
when it was manufactured. The drawing number of 51-3799 doesn't correspond
with that of either the 1795 or 1795B in the Racal master catalogue although
this example is an RA1795 SPECIAL according to the data plate and the
squelch/COR functionality isn't quite as described in the manual. The serial
number is 15x which suggests it's fairly early unless 'specials' were
differently numbered.

Anyone know the history of these receivers?
