as well.
Check the output loading ("fan-out") of the counter to find out if the=20
74LS197 is sufficient.

The 8293 is a Signetics part number that predated the 74-series.

74197's can be obtained from NTE for about 3? apiece

=C4rende: [Premium-Rx] 8293 counter chip

Hello all.

Maybe a little off topic, but the life of a premium receiver (or two)=20
depends on it...

I have been trying to find data for a 8293 binary counter, and also a=20
source of the device. Its quite common in older premium receivers (in=20
particular WJ).

Managed to find the datasheets after a major and lengthy trawl using=20
Google - but no obvious source for the part.

Does anyone know a source accessible from the UK - or a readily=20
available equivalent?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Richard
