Hi John,

OK, I've had a play with three of these now.. And it was not until I pulled
the last one out this morning that I found your behaviour.

 

The reason - firmware version P90550/04, well at least before P90550/08

 

On receivers with P90550/08 and P90550/09 I don't get that behaviour. It
doesn't display an address unless in master mode.

 

For firmware version P90550/04, the address displayed is dependent on dip
switch settings, so you can set SW3 to 1 or 99  as you discussed and that's
what you'll see.

 

If you like I can pop a copy of P90550/09 on my webpage if you want to try
later firmware?

 

I should have pulled number three out earlier, I spent some time tinkering
with SW4 etc on P90550/08 and P90550/09  and only while writing this email I
decided to pull number 3 out from the cupboard.
