Re my last piece, I recall that Sosin's "perfect receiver" was defined as 
one whose IP3 response was as good as the atmospheric limit of the frequency 
in use, Sosin arguing that it was pointless trying to build a receiver whose 
response was better then the limiting factors of the ionosphere.
