[Premium-Rx] ROM or EPROM losing its content

Hello everybody in premium-rx groop,

I'm a new member of the groop and first of all I would like to wish good health and my respect for everyone in that interested groop.
One more things- English language is not my native, so if some thing's going wrong with it I'm very sorry.

Recently I bought on e-Bay VHF/UHF Receiver REGCO RG-5500 really rare and very interested for me.
It not working condition, so repair needed. I'm OK with hardware, but not so good with software...Now I started to collect
information for repair and opinion of groop members will be very appreciated. ROM or EPROM losing content
that is a common problem for receivers 30 years age or so? Or it happen not so often? Because RG-5500
very rare what a chance to recover ROM/EPROM content if any? Receiver underway now to my location, so
for me that is most important things to know...(That receiver was disign by REGCO to competite with WJ 8617)
