Hi Dave
That was a very good buy and I half wondered if it might be you who bought
it.
You won't have known until now just how lucky you were, I had a bid set up
right until the closing minutes but with the clear out moving slowly
enough as it is a very reluctant does of "common sense" finally prevailed:-)
One particular reason for my interest was that it was always likely to be a
good price due to those "missing boards", although admittedly I wasn't
expecting it to stay quite that good, but I'm not convinced as yet that there
actually are any missing boards, and certainly not as many as the gaps
might seem to suggest.
That looks pretty much to me like the board configuration of a basic AM
and SSB 8054A with two channels fitted plus a single audio card, but will
need to check and will come back to you directly on that later.
I take it this means you won't be wanting my 8054A and 8060s after all?:-)
Regards
Nigel

Hi All,
I've just acquired a cosmetically nice, but unfortunately incomplete
Collins HF8054-A receiver. As far as I can tell at the moment, it's
missing the Audio A, IF filter, and Sub carrier PCB's, plus at least
another one whose job I don't know as yet.
I won't have the receiver in my possession until at least next week, so
will know more about it then.
I've put some pictures of the receiver showing the condition, and the
missing PCB's on my web site at http://www.ra1792.co.uk/radios/8054a/
So you can see what is missing.
I've also acquired the matching HF8060 pre selector, but this is
supposed to be complete, so hopefully won't need to much work to get it
going....
To sum up, I'm looking for any info, plus a source of the missing PCB's.
I know it's a long shot, but you never know until you ask.....
Thanks in advance,
Dave.S.
